How to Use

Instructions

Combine one (1) level scoop of Transparent Labs BCAA Glutamine with 10-12 ounces of cold water or your preferred beverage and mix until powder is fully dissolved. Consume 30-45 minutes before, during, or immediately after your workout.

An additional one to two scoops may be taken throughout the day. Do not exceed three (3) servings per day.

Optimal Consumption Times

• Pre-Workout: Consuming our BCAA powder before your workout helps prime your body for exercise with key amino acids and micronutrients.

• Intra-Workout: Sipping on a serving of Transparent Labs BCAA Glutamine during your workout can prevent a decline in performance by mitigating muscle fatigue and sustaining hydration. This is especially beneficial if you tend to sweat a lot or exercise in hot/humid conditions.

• Post-Workout: Ingesting Transparent Labs BCAA Glutamine post-workout aids in recovery by supporting protein synthesis, reducing soreness, and rehydrating the body.

Active Ingredients and Benefits

Fermented Branched-Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) 2:1:1 | 8,000 mg

Branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) are a group of three essential amino acids—L-leucine, L-isoleucine, and L-valine—that play an integral role in muscle protein synthesis, the process by which cells create new muscle proteins (which is necessary for muscle recovery and hypertrophy). While there are nine essential amino acids, L-leucine is widely regarded as the “master regulator” of protein synthesis [1].

Research suggests that supplementing with a 2:1:1 ratio of BCAAs (leucine: isoleucine:valine) post-workout can mitigate the severity of delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) and decrease muscle damage markers, such as creatine kinase [2]. Further evidence indicates that BCAA supplementation improves endurance and muscle strength by reducing rates of perceived exertion and increasing lactate thresholds during exercise [3, 4].

Additionally, BCAAs can help protect against muscle protein breakdown during weight-loss phases [5, 6].

Glutamine | 5,000 mg

L-glutamine is the most abundant free amino acid in human muscle and plasma; however, it is a conditionally essential amino acid for active gym-goers and athletes since intense and long-duration exercise can deplete glutamine stores in the body [7].

Studies show that glutamine supplementation helps improve muscle glycogen synthesis, gut health, and immune function in active individuals, making it useful for muscle recovery and performance [8, 9, 10]. Clinical research has shown that glutamine also plays a key role in protein synthesis despite being a non-essential amino acid [11].

Vitamin C | 1,500 mg

Vitamin C is a ubiquitous antioxidant vitamin that, when taken in large doses (>1 gram per day), can reduce muscle soreness and bolster recovery between workouts [12]. It also plays a vital role in collagen synthesis and throughout the immune system, with evidence that it may reduce the severity and duration of upper respiratory tract infections [13].

Coconut Water Powder | 1,000 mg

Coconut water is one of the best natural sources of electrolytes and trace minerals, making it a perfect ingredient for replenishing and rehydrating during and after training. Coconut (Cocos nucifera) has been shown to provide a wealth of general health benefits, including, but not limited to [14]:

• Rehydrating the body

• Fighting inflammation

• Balancing blood glucose and insulin levels

• Promoting immune function

• Enhancing eye and skin health

• Supporting kidney function

FAQs Section

What Does BCAA Powder Do?

BCAA powder supplies three essential amino acids known as branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) in their free form (hence, they are rapidly absorbed). The body cannot produce essential amino acids (including BCAAs) on its own, so we must obtain them regularly via whole foods and/or nutritional supplements.

Is it OK to Take BCAAs Every Day?

Yes, taking up to 20 grams of BCAAs daily in divided doses (~5-10 g per dose) is considered safe. However, BCAAs are not intended as a sole source of nutrition and will not offset a lack of protein in the diet.

Can I Take BCAA Powder with a Protein Shake?

Yes, you can use BCAA powder as a means of enriching any powdered protein source.

How do BCAAs Compare to Creatine?

While BCAAs aid muscle repair and growth, creatine is primarily used to boost power and strength during high-intensity training. Both supplements can be useful for athletes and gym-goers.

When is the Best Time of Day to Take BCAAs?

Ideally, BCAA powder should be consumed before, during, or immediately after workouts to maximize muscle repair and mitigate exercise-induced muscle soreness. BCAAs are rapidly absorbed and easy on the stomach, so drinking a BCAA solution during workouts won't weigh you down like a protein shake.
